Why your website is a revenue system, not a brochure

The highest-performing sites are designed backwards from a commercial outcome. Here is the planning framework we use before a single screen is drawn.

Most website projects start with a sitemap and a mood board. The best ones start with a number: the revenue, pipeline or retention outcome the site exists to move.

Start from the outcome

When the objective is explicit, every subsequent decision becomes easier to make and easier to defend. Page priority, content depth, platform choice and even visual tone all follow from it.

Map the journey, not the org chart

Visitors do not care how your company is structured. They care whether you solve their problem and whether they can trust you to do it. Structure the site around their questions in the order they ask them.

  • Define one primary conversion per page
  • Remove every step that does not add trust or clarity
  • Instrument the journey so you can see where it leaks

Measure in business terms

Report on qualified leads, demo requests and revenue attributed, not on sessions and bounce rate. Leadership will fund what it can see paying back.
