Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect personal information, and the choices you have.
Last updated: October 6, 2026
This policy explains how DevEdge Solutions ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit this website, contact us, use our AI assistant or work with us as a client. We serve clients internationally and apply the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as our baseline, together with other applicable laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Who we are
DevEdge Solutions is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@devedgesolutions.com or by post at 120 Market Street, Suite 400, San Francisco, CA 94105.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiries: your name, work email, company, website, the services you are interested in, your timeline and the message you send through our contact form.
- Newsletter: your email address if you subscribe.
- AI assistant: the messages you type into the chat assistant and, if you choose to share them, your name, email, company and a note so our team can follow up.
- Client work: contact details, account access and project information you provide while we deliver services to you.
Information collected automatically
- Website statistics: we count page views, visits, referring websites, device type, browser and country in aggregate. This measurement does not use cookies and does not store your IP address; visits are counted with a code that changes every day so you cannot be followed over time.
- Security information: to protect the site against fraud, spam and attacks we process your IP address and browser details when you submit a form or sign in, and keep records of blocked or suspicious requests for up to 90 days.
- Cookies and similar technologies: essential cookies always, analytics and marketing cookies only with your consent. See our Cookie policy.
We do not knowingly collect special category data. Please do not include sensitive information (for example health or financial details) in forms or chat messages.
How we use your information and our legal bases
- To respond to enquiries and prepare proposals: steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- To deliver services and manage our client relationship: performance of our contract with you.
- To send our newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link.
- To operate the AI assistant: our legitimate interest in answering questions quickly; conversations help us improve answers.
- To keep the website secure and prevent abuse: our legitimate interest in protecting our systems and visitors.
- To understand how the website is used: aggregate, cookieless statistics under our legitimate interest; analytics cookies only with your consent.
- To measure advertising: your consent to marketing cookies.
- To meet legal obligations: such as accounting, tax and responding to lawful requests.
Our AI assistant
The chat assistant answers questions about our services using information published on this website. When an AI provider is enabled, your messages are sent to that provider (for example Anthropic, OpenAI or DeepSeek) to generate a reply, under agreements that restrict how they may use the data. Conversation transcripts are stored for up to 180 days and then deleted automatically; anonymous totals (for example the number of conversations per day) are kept. The assistant can make mistakes, so our team confirms any details before you rely on them.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the website and our business, such as hosting and database providers, Cloudflare (security and content delivery), Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection), email providers and, when enabled, AI providers.
- Analytics and advertising partners such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest and X, only if you accept the relevant cookies.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants, under confidentiality.
- Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public.
- A successor business if we are involved in a merger or acquisition, under the same protections.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Where data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred, we rely on adequacy decisions or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK addendum where relevant) and additional safeguards where needed.
How long we keep information
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Client records: for the duration of our relationship and as long as required by tax and accounting law (typically 6 to 7 years).
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- AI assistant transcripts: 180 days.
- Security logs: 90 days.
- Website statistics: kept indefinitely as anonymous totals only.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You can change your cookie choices at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer.
California and other US state residents may request to know, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information. Marketing cookies may count as "sharing"; you can opt out by rejecting marketing cookies, and we honour Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise a right, email hello@devedgesolutions.com. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the time required by law (usually one month). You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, although we would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
Client data we process for you
When we build or maintain a website for a client, we may process personal data on the client's behalf (for example customer records in an online store). In that case the client is the controller and we act as a processor under a data processing agreement, which we provide on request.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, encrypted storage of sensitive settings, access controls with two-factor authentication, rate limiting, firewall rules and regular updates. No system is completely secure, so please contact us immediately if you suspect a problem.
Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed; significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
